Larry Oster

Larry Wayne Oster, 64, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. His battle with cancer was over.

Larry was born in Rainy River, Ontario, on June 3, 1948.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Vera (Tetreault); brothers, Keith and Terry Oster; and sister, Carol Irvine.

Larry grew up in the Devlin, Ontario, area.

He loved to work, especially in the “bush.”

He loved to go to auctions, play pool and poker, and he always had a joke to tell.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra and three children: daughter, Cathy (Phil) Katzenberger of Farmington, Minn., son, Kevin (Karin) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and stepson, Derek Clark (Carrie) of International Falls, Minn.; his brothers, Dale of Kenora, Ontario, Ken (Elaine) of Fort Frances, Ontario, and Brad (Cathy) of Bloomington, Minn.; sisters, Cheryl (Gary) Hughes of Devlin, Ontario, and Colleen (Dan) Debennetti of Ramsey, Minn.; grandchildren, Will, Allysha, Nicholas, Abigail, Madelyn and Michael; brothers-in-law, Tim Larson, Jack (Becky) Larson and Milo (Jackie) Barday; sisters-in-law, Dalyce (Jon) Mackey, Kathy (Bob) Sikkila and Susan (Dan) Magner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and the United States.

He will be missed by his loved ones and the many friends he had.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Ranier Community Building.
