Leo Alfred Cassibo

Leo Alfred Cassibo, 81, of Littlefork, Minn., formerly of International Falls, Minn., died Friday evening, April 6, 2012, at Littlefork Care Center.

Leo was born Nov. 30, 1930, in International Falls.

He attended Holler Elementary School and graduated from Falls High School with the Class of 1948.

He was employed at the local phone company until he retired from Contel in 1990 as the office manager.

Leo belonged to many organizations over the years including International Falls Rotary Club with 37 years of perfect attendance, Shriners and the Masonic Lodge.

His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time at the hunting shack with his sons and grandsons.

He also enjoyed gardening and was very proud of his gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Verna Cassibo; daughter, Linda; brothers, Vernon, Robert and Iver; sisters, Margaret Jenson, Edith Romosz and Lila Bartel.

Leo is survived by his sons, Bruce Cassibo of International Falls and Tim (April) Cassibo of Nampa, Idaho; daughters, Karen (Ken) Basaraba of Fort Frances, Ontario, and Cheryl (Mike) Norbury of Eden Prairie, Minn.; five grandchildren, Christopher Engelking, Troy Basaraba, Shannon Basaraba, Jessica Lake and Ashley Cassibo; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Cassibo of Minneapolis; two sisters, Shirley Boe of Verndale, Minn., and Beatrice Patterson of Provo, Utah.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday April 14, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
