Lillian Sophia Williams, 88, of Littlefork, Minn., died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Rainy Lake Medical Center, International Falls, Minn.
Lillian was born March 31, 1924, in Gonvick, Minn., the daughter of Eugene and Laura Jordahl.
Lillian grew up with her two brothers and sister and her parents on the family farm located in Gonvick. She spent her childhood days and teenage years down by Lost River swimming and riding horse.
She married Edgar Arthur Williams on Dec. 29, 1942, in Bagley, Minn., and the two recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Lillian was employed for 13 years at the Littlefork Hospital and enjoyed the friendships she built with her co-workers.
Lillian was proud of her Norwegian heritage and culture.
Over the years some of Lillian’s favorite activities included her trip with her son and daughter-in-law to Arizona to visit her brother and her out-of-town shopping trips with her daughters.
Lillian’s greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Eugene Jordahl; brother, John Jordahl, sister, Myrtle Olson; daughter in-law, Bella Williams; and great-grandson, Abraham Fagerstrom.
Lillian is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Edgar Williams of Littlefork; sons, Richard (Rosie) Williams of International Falls, Kenny Williams of Rochester, Greg (Sue) Williams of Littlefork, and Eddie (Shelley) Williams of Littlefork; two daughters, Sharon Belanger of International Falls and Sandra (Don) Williams of Lake George; eight grandchildren — Shane Williams, Marci Boes, Kelly Fagerstrom, Kristi Nelson, Kim Belanger, Shawn Williams, Amanda Jones and Kory Williams; 12 great-grandchildren — Makenzie and Tanner Boes, Isaac and Ben Fagerstrom, Chandon Street, Brendan, Andi and Addi Williams, Talon Porter, Kalab Roussy, Kylan Boorman, Joshua Laurin and Liam Jones; brother, Floyd (Dody) Jordahl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 3 p.m. funeral service Monday, April 23, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
Interment will be at Oakley Cemetery, Littlefork.
