Lola Glover

Lola Fay Glover, 70, of International Falls, Minn., passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Jan. 31,2013.

She was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Park River, N.D., the daughter of Theodore A. and Mabel A. (Egstad) Johnson.

She was united in marriage to George “Lee” Glover on Oct. 14, 1958, in South International Falls, where they then built a home and raised five children.

She was a past active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 Auxiliary.

She liked reading, engaging in political conversations, camping, swimming, playing softball and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Lola was also a great cook and will be remembered for the large meals she put on. Her potato salad was a particularly favorite request of those lucky enough to be cooked for by her.

She is survived by her four sons, Lynlee Glover of International Falls, Landon Glover of Lisbon, N.D., Leslee Glover and Lonny Glover, both of International Falls; her daughter, LaRae (Gord) Watson of Fort Frances, Ontario; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Marlow (Kay) Johnson of Roseau, Minn., and Ted (Glenda) Johnson of International Falls; three sisters, Virginia Svir of Park River, N.D., Ramona Moe of Everett, Wash., and Deidre (Jim) Schackman of Palo, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Lee” in 2000; her parents; two brothers, Charles and Harlan Johnson; a sister, Beverly Doherty; and an infant brother.

A gathering of family and friends will be celebrating her life from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the VFW Post 2948 in International Falls.
