Maria Korzinski

Maria Korzinski, 49, a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family Monday, May 21, 2012, at Boundary Trails Health Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 16, 1963.

Mary was a devoted Christian who touched and inspired the lives of everyone around her. Through thick and thin, she stayed strong and positive for herself and others until her last breath.

Mary was married to her husband of 26 years, Warren Korzinski, and had two children, Bonita and Roma Korzinski.

In 1993, they owned and operated the Rambler Motel in International Falls, Minn., for 14 years before moving back to Canada where they made their final home.

She is survived by her parents, Gerhard and Helen Friesen of Winkler, Manitoba; parents-in-law, Mike and Claudette Korzinski of Eagle River, Ontario; husband, Warren Korzinski of Eagle River, Ontario; two children, Bonita Korzinski (Nick Ysen) and Roma (Ashley) Korzinski, both of International Falls, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Chelsea and Myles Korzinski.

She is also survived by brothers, George (Anne) Friesen, Abe (Tina) Friesen and John (Marcie) Friesen; sisters, Tina (Wes) Dyck, Marge (John) Rempel, Helen (Bob) Thevenot and Lisa (Greg) Klassen; brother-in-law, Vince Korzinski; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family of Mary wants to thank everyone for what they have done to comfort her and her family, and especially for all the prayers that have been sent up for them. They would also like to thank everyone else who helped in whatever way they could.

Two funeral services planned for Mary are set for 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Sommerfeld Church, Winkler, Manitoba, with her viewing from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24. Her final service and resting place will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, with viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 28, at Stevens Funeral Home, Dryden, Ontario.
