Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Mary Jean Borden, 46, of Sartell, who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at her home in Sartell. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church in St. Cloud.

Mary Jean was born on Feb. 25, 1967 in Duluth, Minn. Mary attended St. Thomas Catholic School and graduated from Falls High School in International Falls in 1986. She lived in Grand Rapids, Minn., after high school and then moved to Sartell.

Mary was an advocate for persons with mental illness. She spoke on her/their behalf at a community forum in Grand Rapids hosted by Representative Jim Oberstar. Mary worked at WACOSA in St. Cloud, a non-profit offering employment to individuals with mental or physical disabilities. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, going for walks, watching movies, and collecting Princess Diana memorabilia.

Grateful for sharing her life are her parents, Bill and Arleen Borden of St. Cloud; sister, Patty (Doug) Grinsell of Sioux Falls S.D.; brothers Bob (Mary), of Cloquet, Tony (Diane) of Minoqua, Wisc., and Jason (Michelle) of Sartell; brother-in-law, Bret (Nicole) Reuter of St. Cloud, and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Reuter; nephew, Elijah Grinsell; and grandparents William H. and Mabel Borden and Warner and Sophia Grandaw.
