Mildred Underdahl

Mildred “Millie” Irene Underdahl, 88, of International Falls, Minn., went to Heaven Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at St. Mary’s Essentia Health, Duluth, Minn.

Millie was born April 7, 1924, in International Falls, where she was a lifelong resident.  

The former Mildred Tschabold married Conrad Underdahl on June 22, 1942, in International Falls.

She worked at Tives Grocery Store and Woolworth’s store for 15 years.

She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, playing Bingo, and watching baseball and football. She was a Twins and Vikings fan.

Millie loved spending time with her family and friends, and all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She volunteered at Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary, Zion Lutheran Church, and Martha’s Circle at Zion Lutheran.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Helma and Herb Viger; her father, Orval Tschabold; husband, Conrad; two sons, Gary Underdahl and Wayne Underdahl; and sister, Betty Lou Carlson.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Wickstrom of International Falls; daughters-in-law, Janet Underdahl and Vicki Underdahl of International Falls; grandchildren, Wendy Ginter, Jeff Wickstrom, Cris Caravaca, Michael Underdahl, Philip Underdahl, Beth Milette, Heather Klammer, Kayla Gilbert, Missy Trickel and Ashley Rohwer; great-grandchildren, Tara, Noah, Brooke, T.J., Rebecca, Emily, Alex, Caitlyn, Emma, Grace, Maggie, Braedyn, Jack, Tanner, Philip, Patrick, Will and Danica; great-great-grandchildren, Jayden, Addison, Jacksyn and Piper; sister, Shirley Graves of International Falls; her other “daughter,” Sue Tupper; many nieces and nephews; and all of her many wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Zion Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior.

Interment will be in the VFW section of Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family would prefer memorials in her memory.
