Muriel Kernene passed away at the Pelican Garden Nursing Home in Vera Beach, Fla., Sunday, July 15, 2007, at the age of 88.
Muriel was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Aug. 14, 1918, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Costello.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Beverly Tyne of Chicago, Ill..; grandchildren, Dennis and Michael Pollard and five great-grandchildren; her brother, Howard J. Costello; and sister-in-law, Eva Costello of Fort Frances, Ontario; and brother-in-law, Jack Calvert of International Falls, Minn.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband, Charles; her parents, Christopher Isaac Costello and Sadie McCauley (McKay) Costello; her son, Howard Jim Tyne; daughter, Maria Hawkins; sister, Mildred Calvert; and brother, Lawrence Costello.
Muriel spent the greater part of her life owning and operating black bear camps at Nestor Falls, Ontario and in the Sunset and Falls Motel locally.
Cremation has taken place in Sabastian,
A memorial service will also be conducted in Sabastian where she spent the last 28 years of her life.
