Myrtle Angeline Tyson, 86

 

Myrtle Angeline Tyson, 86, formerly of International Falls, Minn., died Wednesday morning, Oct. 14, 2009, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, Minn.

Myrtle was born March 1, 1923, in International Falls, Minn.

She worked for the United States Postal Service.

Myrtle enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing, and doing paint by numbers. She was also interested in politics, history and enjoyed a good joke.

She was a member of the Covenant Women’s Ministries and Evangelical Covenant Church.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husbands, James Laurin and Delbert Tyson; parents, William and Laura Stillar; brothers, Clifford, William and Walter; sisters, Alice and Mary Jane; and great-granddaughter, Alicia.

Myrtle is survived by her son, James (Sharon) Laurin of St. Cloud, Minn.; daughter, Joy Truax of Wayzata, Minn.; step-sons, Rolland (Laura) Tyson of Wisconsin and Richard (Margaret) Tyson of Minnesota; step-daughter, Darlene (Lyle) Gleesing of Minnesota; grandchildren, Teryl (Tom) Roy, David (Michelle) Truax and Michael (Keisa) Truax; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Catherine, Chandler, Emily and Jacob; and sister, Julia (Morris) Shoberg of International Falls.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 17, at Evangelical Covenant Church, International Falls, Minn. Officiating was Pastor Don Clark with music by Barbara McDowell.

Casketbearers were James Laurin, David Truax, Michael Truax, Kenny Shoberg and Brian Keeney.

Interment was at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.

The family would prefer memorials to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Foundation at 1115 Fourth Ave. N., Sauk Rapids, MN 56379.
