Nancy Anne Kostiuk (LaVigne), 55, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, in her daughter’s home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and Mike Kostiuk.
Nancy was born May 22, 1957, in Fort Frances, Ontario, to Merritt and Edna Swenson.
She graduated from Falls High School in International Falls in 1975.
After high school she attended Rainy River Community College and Hibbing Community College and received her license in registered nursing. She fulfilled her dreams of helping the community by working at Falls Memorial Hospital, Falls Good Samaritan Center and River Oaks Home Care.
Nancy married Mike Kostiuk on July 25, 1975, and was happily married for over 30 years. During their marriage they had four children.
She enjoyed spending the summers at her family’s cabin in Ontario, fishing, boat riding, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in! death by her father, Merritt Swenson; mother, Edna Swenson; brother, Garry Swenson; and brother, Michael Swenson.
Nancy is survived by Mike Kostiuk; her son, Michael (Marnie) Kostiuk and their children, Christopher, Kane, Quinn, Colin, Nicholas and Christian; daughter, Marissa (Ted) Wolden and their children, McKensy, Teddy and Jadelynn; daughter, Katie (Fredrick) Woods and their child, Carter; Lacey Kostiuk and Tyce Jackson and their child Charlee; sister, Judy (Joe) Spencer; Dennis Swenson; and Jean (Ted) Carlson.
Visitation services will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Green-Larsen Mortuary .
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Faith United Church of Christ.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
