Nancy Lavigne

Nancy Lavigne (nee Christiansen), 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Littlefork Care Center, Littlefork, Minn.  

Nancy was born July 2, 1918, to John and Anna Christiansen at Mulvihill, Manitoba.

Nancy’s early career took her to Toronto, Ontario, to work for the Parker Pen Company. From there she moved to Los Angeles to work and live near her sister. Later in life she moved back to International Falls.

Nancy was always a joy to visit with her unique humor and wit, and was always happy to see and welcome all members of her family.

She loved her sports, particularly baseball and hockey.

Nancy is survived by her brothers, Walter Christiansen (Fort Frances, Ontario) and John Ernest Christiansen (Nanaimo, British Columbia). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Christiansen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry (Ingrid), Harold (Gurlie), Robert (Irene) and George (Margaret); sister, Alphild; sisters-in-law, Nettie and Florence; sisters and brothers-in-law, Inga (Eric) Pearson, Edith (Albert) Berg and Donna Mae (Arne) Little.

Graveside services for family and friends are planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Frances, Ontario.
