Natasha Burnell

Natasha Rae (Kopkie) Burnell, 23, of International Falls, Minn., died Thursday morning, Sept. 6, 2012, as the result of a tragic automobile accident.

Natasha was born Feb. 14, 1989, in International Falls.

She was an elementary teacher, she loved camping, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors and creation.

Tasha loved small children and they loved her. This led her to her career as a preschool educator.  

Natasha Rae Kopkie married Riley Ray Burnell on June 14, 2008.

Tasha and Riley had hopes and dreams for their future, owning a home, and having a family.

Tasha had a dream since childhood of having a horse of her own.

She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Albert and Louella Kopkie of Baudette and Bruce and Opal Brown of International Falls; and maternal great-grandparents, Theodore and Margaret Lindquist of Grand Rapids and Edgar and Helen Kircher of Bagley.

Tasha is survived by her parents, Dan and Kim Kopkie; sister, Amber Jean Kopkie; mother and father-in-law, Irene and Roger Jensen; paternal grandparents, Pearl Hooker and Raymond Kopkie; maternal grandparents, Maynard and LouElla Lindquist; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends who loved Tasha very much.  

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Bob Walls Memorial Union Hall, International Falls.
