Norma E. DeBenedet, 85, of International Falls, Minn., died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the Ranier Roost, Ranier, Minn.
Norma was born Nov. 27, 1926, in International Falls. She was a lifelong resident here.
The former Norma Bowman married Richard J. DeBenedet on Feb. 17, 1947, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, camping and fishing, knitting, gardening, traveling and reading.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and volunteered at the Clothes Closet at St. Thomas Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fannie Bowman; husband, Richard J. DeBenedet; and sisters, Lena Klepatz, Mary Fredrickson and Elisabell Weppler.
Norma is survived by her sons, James (Stephanie) of Roseville, Minn., Robert of Jacksonville, Fla., Rick (Pat) and Mike (Sue), both of International Falls; daughter, Gloria DeBenedet of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; 12 grandchildren: Gina (Michael) Mayer, Talia (Darren) Zeman, Grant (Jenna) DeBenedet, Lucas, Tim, Peter, and Ivey DeBenedet, Robyn (Christopher) Evans, Dallas (Joe Nelson) Koenig, Brent Koenig, Blair Koenig and Dawn (Chuck Weber) Koenig; nine great-grandchildren: Cameron, Sophia, and William DeBenedet, Reid and Anissa Zeman, Juliana and James Mayer, and Brendan and Elizabeth Nelson; and sisters, Ruth McMillan, Bernice DeGagne and Beverly Bowman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Green-Larsen Mortuary, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials in her memory would be preferred to St. Thomas Catholic School.
