Raymond Wright

Raymond William Wright, 85, of Loman, Minn., lost his battle with cancer Friday, July 13, 2012, at Rainy Lake Medical Center hospital campus.

He was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Little Falls, Minn., to Roy and Luella Wright.

He was the beloved husband of Rosalee Wright, who passed in April. They were married for 62 years and had eight children.

He served in the military in World War II.

Dad loved the outdoors: trapping, fishing, hunting, and hiking, so being a logger for over 40 years seemed appropriate.

No one could keep up with Dad; he loved adventure and rarely ever slowed down.

Dad always made special time for his children. He built the family cabin in the 1960s where we spent our summers. He taught us to swim, fish, build fires, and find our way

He was a people person and loved to joke and see people happy.

He was generous, and never turned his back on anyone he could help. He was someone you could count on whether friend, family, or stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Luella Wright; his loving wife, Rosalee Wright; sister, Beatrice; brothers, Leroy and Russel; and an infant son.

Raymond is survived by his son, Glen Wright; daughters, Linda (James) Gustavson, Dixie (Bruce) Ford, Dawn (Mike) Pelland, Melanie (Brian) Danz, Cathy (Brett) Beaudette and Pamela (Tom) VanDamme; 17 loving grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carol (Charlie) Spritt and Marlys (Larry) Sitts.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Loman.

The family would prefer memorials in his memory.
