Sandy Gaetzke, age 50, of Weyauwega, formerly of Eureka, Wis., died peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Weyauwega Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 16, 1961, in International Falls, Minn., the daughter of George and Eleanor Williamson Edberg.

She graduated from Falls High School.

On Oct. 18, 1980, she was united in marriage to Rocky Gaetzke.

She and her husband were the lock-tenders for the Eureka Locks and Berlin Boat Club from 1991 to 2006. Sandy loved animals and boating.

Her grandchildren were her life, and she always put others first.

She was an incredible mother and an amazing friend.

She wanted nothing more in life than to provide her family with the best wife, mother, and grandmother that anyone could ever ask for. The “I love you’s,” the “something is bothering you-let’s sit down and talk,” “Grandma says it’s ok,” and “no matter what happens, I will always be there for you,” were some of the things that mattered most to her.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Rocky; three children, Jeffrey (Evlyn) of Omro, Angela of Weyauwega, and Ryan (fiancé Kristina); five grandchildren, Caden Carley, Haley, Jeffrey, and Adrian Gaetzke, and Wyatt Ewald; five sisters, Carolyn McDougal, Sharon Lamppa, Lynda Edberg, Debi McKinnon and Cindy Holter; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stanley and Kae Gaetzke; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Pamela Elliott; and an infant brother, Jeffrey.
