Susan Lynne Eileen Brown

Susan Lynne Eileen Brown passed at home peacefully in the loving arms of her family Saturday, April 7, 2012.

Born March 25, 1943, in International Falls, she was the youngest of three daughters (Joanne Brown-Stern and Marilyn Longaecker) born to Marshall and Dorothy Brown.

Susan is remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a compassionate worker serving the elderly, and a genuine friend for life.

She earned her associate degree from Rainy River Community College and served her nation in the Women’s Army Corp while raising her two children as a single parent in the 1970s.

She dedicated herself to her work at the Falls Nursing Home and later at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mesa, Ariz., where she retired.

Susan was known for her caring heart, and renown for her walleye dinners, skillet fried over a flaming campfire on the shoreline of Rainy Lake.

Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Brown; her sister, Marilyn and husband Robert Longaecker; her son, Christopher White and his wife Diane and children Erik, Tyler, Chloe, Seth and Nicholas; her daughter, Marsha Halverson and her daughter Tessa; as well as dear friends, Rod and Linda White and Gail and Bob Owen.

In lieu of a memorial, Susan requested her ashes be spread upon the waters of Rainy Lake’s East End, where she most enjoyed her summers.

Sympathies may be sent to her mother Dorothy at 13700 North Fountain Hills Blvd., Apt. 275, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.

Memorials may be made to the Falls High School Alumni Association.
