Theone Bernard, 78, Fargo, N.D., formerly of International Falls, Minn., died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, in her home.
Theone Christian was born April 30, 1931, in Warroad, Minn., to Edward and Effie (Keeler) Christian. She grew up and graduated from high school in Warroad.
Theone married Donald Bernard on Aug. 20, 1949, in Warroad. They later moved to Breckenridge, Minn., and in 1951, they made their home in International Falls, Minn.
Theone worked 17 years for the International Falls Independent School District 361, as a cook in various schools.
Mr. Bernard died July 2, 1988.
She moved to Fargo in August of 2004, where she resided until her death.
Theone was a very active member of First Lutheran Church in International Falls. She enjoyed knitting, curling, bowling, square dancing and the many activities her children were involved in. But most of all,
Theone greatly loved the time she was able to spend with her family at the family cabin on Rainy Lake.
She is survived by one son, Donald (Barbara) Bernard, Eagle River, Alaska; two daughters, Effie (James) Blubaugh, Victorville, Calif., and Tonya (Bob) Omdahl, Fargo, N.D.; three grandchildren, Lara (Jon-Erik) Storm, Hans Bernard and Steffen Bernard; three brothers, Gordon (Emma) Christian, Roger (Jean) Christian and Bill (Carol) Christian, all of Warroad, Minn.; and one sister, Sharon (Al) Ausman, Seattle, Wash.
Theone was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister and brother-in-law, Ramona (Ted) Wilson.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, with a prayer service at 7 at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, N.D., and will be one hour before the service in the church.
Funeral service is set for 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 15, at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, N.D.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Riverside Cemetery, Warroad, Minn.
