Vernon Keith Rienfeld, 83, of Erskine, Minn., formerly of Big Falls, Minn., died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at River of God Church, Big Falls, with Pastor Tim Treat officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of his friends.

Military honors will be provided by the Big Falls American Legion Post.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Hartley, Iowa.

He was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Moneta, Iowa, to Alfred and Mary (Lenhart) Rienfeld.

He was a private first class in the United States Army from 1951 to 53 during the Korean Conflict.

He lived in Big Falls from the mid 1950s until the early 1980s. He then lived in Mesa, Ariz., until 2007.

He retired from Nina Construction Supply Company, Inc. in 2007.

He is survived by a sister, Bonnie Siltman of Littlefork, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rienfeld of Cherokee, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Clair Rokusek of Omaha, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alfred and Mary Rienfeld; three brothers, Wilbur, Myrl and R. Dean Rienfeld; and a sister, Vinaray Rokusek.
