Wanda Esther McGregor, 88, of International Falls, Minn., peacefully slipped away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls.
Wanda was a twin, born to Ray and Margaret Carr on Dec. 29, 1923.
She married Wilfred McGregor in 1942 in International Falls when she was 19 years old.
She worked at the Drive-In Theatre and the Tee Pee Motel. She did upholstery work for years, loved to sew and do craft work, and had many projects in the works.
She loved playing cards with the grandkids.
Wanda had many special friends and a heart of gold.
She was also an Honored Elder, and received an eagle feather.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Margaret Carr; sons, Robert and Richard McGregor; husband, Wilfred McGregor; sister, Margaret “Babe” Pennell; brothers, Manny Severson, Clarence Severson, Henry “Boo” Carr and twin brother, Lester Carr.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Lynn Boyd of Winnipeg, Manitoba; sons, Ed McGregor of Nisswa, Minn., Fred (Laurie) McGregor of Akeley, Minn., and Donald McGregor of International Falls, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Veterans of Foreign Wars section of Forest Hill Cemetery.
