Wayne C. Chezick, 73, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Fairview Hospital, Hibbing, Minn.
Wayne was born and grew up in International Falls.
He is survived by two sons, Bryan Chezick of International Falls and Brent Chezick of Eveleth, Minn.; and two grandchildren, BreeAnna Chezick of Minneapolis, Minn., and Owen Chezick-Mora of Vancouver, British Columbia.
In addition to his children, he is survived by five siblings — Lloyd Chezick and wife Bernice, Lois Brekke and husband Jerome, Larry Chezick, Judy Gillette and husband Glen, and Joanne Amerud and husband David.
After leaving high school, Wayne was employed by M & O Paper Company and then served in the United States Army. After that he worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Virginia, Minn., for 30 years until retirement.
He was an active member of C.W.A. union and served as vice president.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 1599 and American Legion Post 220.
Wayne had many friends and was always checking on family and friends to see how they were doing.
He enjoyed traveling and made several trips throughout the U.S., including Alaska.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” and lunch at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the Elks Lodge, 215 Third St., International Falls, Minn.
