Beginning on Wednesday, June 30, the collective classmates of the Littlefork-Big Falls School will begin to gather with residents of the Littlefork area for several event-packed days of celebration.

L-BF’s All School Reunion begins on June 30 with a registration period from 5-8 p.m. in the L-BF high school commons. However, preregistration is still encouraged to help eliminate long lines and congestion during the days of the reunion. Registration forms are available at City Hall. Those who preregister need only to pick up name tags, ordered merchandise and their registration drawing card when they arrive at registration sites.

A Wednesday cribbage tournament kicks off the ASR at 2 p.m. at the VFW Club. At 6 p.m. is a Lions Club supper at the Littlefork Community Building with Bingo to follow at 7 p.m.

Thursday, July 1

Registration continues from 2-7 p.m. in the high school commons with cribbage scheduled at 2 p.m. at the VFW.

The band Sloughgrass will provide live bluegrass country music from 2-4 p.m. in the high school commons where an ice cream social is also scheduled.

Tours of the L-BF school will run from 2-5 p.m. A food court in the commons opens at 5 p.m. as the basketball tournament commences.

Also at 5 p.m. is a feed at the VFW Club.

Pat Porter will provide music from 7-10 p.m. in the community building.

Friday, June 2

Registration for those who haven’t done so yet continues in the high school commons. A 10 a.m. softball tournament at Troy Janzen Field in City Park kicks off Friday events.

A pizza party is slated for noon at JC’s Restaurant on Main Street while the Family Fun Zone is scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in John Thompson Field. “Teacher Time” is set for 2-4 p.m. in the L-BF high school commons.

The Home Town Restaurant will offer a hometown feed at 4 p.m. as down the street at the same time, the VFW Club hosts another feed.

A general assembly is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. in the L-BF new gymnasium. During this program, registration cards will be drawn for cash and prize drawings including the grand prize of $500. For these drawings, registrants must be present to win.

Announced at the assembly will be the location of the 8 p.m. gatherings of alumni classes and parade floats.

From 8 p.m. to midnight, music at the VFW Club will be provided by Ron E. Cash.

Saturday, July 3

At 8 a.m., a golf scramble at the Falls Country Club as well as a breakfast at the Littlefork Community Building are scheduled. Registration continues from 8-10 p.m. at the community building.

A 5K run/walk will commence at 9 a.m. from the L-BF high school commons.

On the fairgrounds at 10 a.m., lawn mower races are scheduled. At the same time, kids sawdust piles and games are slated to begin in City Park.

At 10:45 p.m., drawing winners will be announced in Troy Janzen Field.

Lunch by the Class of 2011 is scheduled in the community building from noon to 1:30 p.m. while a Homerun Derby will be set to go at 12:30 p.m. in Troy Janzen Field.

The food court in the community building will open at 2 p.m. just before a tug-of-war contest commences between Third Avenue and the community building at 2:30 p.m.

A parade celebration on Main Street will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, with a steak feed following from 4-6 p.m. at the community building.

Oval Car Races are scheduled at 5 p.m. at the Littlefork fairgrounds.

In Big Falls at 6 p.m., a potluck supper and chili cookoff is set to begin at 6 p.m. The band Bad Influence will provide music for a Big Falls street dance from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

The annual celebration of the Fourth of July in Big Falls is considered a continuation of the L-BF All School Reunion events, said ASR chairwoman Clarice Thompson. Alumni and residents are encouraged to celebrate in Big Falls, where events from 9 a.m. to dusk are scheduled.

A final meeting of the ASR committee is scheduled Monday. Those with questions or suggestions should call a committee member or the Littlefork Chamber of Commerce at 218-278-6617 and leave a name and number.
