Library closed
International Falls Public Library will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Photography presentation
Photographer Doug Ohman will give a presentation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at International Falls Public Library. Ohman will talk about how he turned his passion for history and photography into a career with books such as “Cabins of Minnesota” and “Churches of Minnesota.”
Gateway Corridors update
An update on the International Falls Area Gateway Corridors Improvement Project, several years in the planning, will be provided at a noon public luncheon Thursday at Lenard’s in AmericInn. Construction for the beautification of the corridors known as Highways 53 and 11 East will commence in 2014. Andy Hubley of the ARDC and Bryan Anderson of MnDOT will speak. RSVP the Falls Chamber, 283-9400. Lunch $9 inclusive.
Icebox Days at senior center
Icebox Days at Koochiching County Senior Center, 307 Fourth St., will be observed Wednesday. Entertainment by Borderland Pioneers will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon with lunch served at noon. Reservations are needed by noon Tuesday by calling 283-3460.
Quilters guild
Northern Lights Quilters Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. Bring Show and Tell items. Guests are welcome.
Elders advisory council
Koochiching County Elders Advisory Council will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Jack Pine Chateau, 1101 Ninth Ave., Littlefork. All are welcome to attend this time for sharing information about your community, organization, agency or event and how it impacts older adults in the county. LeeAnn Meer, director of Friends Against Abuse, will do a special presentation on “Elder Abuse Issues and Concerns”.
