County board canceled

The Tuesday Koochiching County Board meeting is canceled for lack of business. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 27.

Logging Camp Christmas

All lumberjacks at heart are welcome to the second annual “Logging Camp Christmas” set for Nov. 30. Participants are encouraged to wear plaids and step back in time for a family-style dinner, old-time entertainments and fundraising activities to help support Koochiching Aging Options and its efforts to help older adults in Koochiching County. No Place Like Home Again! is decorating the stage of the Backus Community Center for the event. Doors open at 6 p.m. Limited advance-sale tickets are at City Drug, with board members and at the Koochiching Aging Options office at 283-7084.

Backus events

Backus Kids Club and the Backus office will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Backus Community Center is open Nov. 24 for the Arts and Crafts Festival. Kids Club regular hours resume Nov. 26, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call Backus at 285-7225 for information.

Quilters guild

Northern Lights Quilters Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. Bring Show and Tell items Guests are welcome.
