Border State Bank announced this week three local seniors from the International Falls area who are the bank’s 2018 scholarship recipients.
Kate Knaeble, Littlefork-Big Falls High School; John Cowman and Gina Auran, International Falls High School are the winners of the $500 scholarship award.
The high school students were chosen based on their academic excellence, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. They must also be enrolling, full-time, in a two or four year college or university and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
“We are pleased with their success in the classroom as well as in their community,” said a bank official in a news release.
This year, the bank’s $500 scholarship for high school seniors in the state of Minnesota totaled $7,500. Border State Bank’s Legacy Scholarship, which awards seniors who have parents employed by Border State Bank, totaled $6,000.
