The Midcontinent Communications walk-in office in International Falls will permanently close Oct. 19.

The payment drop-box at the office, located at 1215 3rd Street, will also be removed. The office allowed in-person payments and accepted internet and cable devices to be dropped off, among other services. Midcontinent is an area provider of internet, cable television and phone services. Services will still be available to the Falls despite the closing of the office.

“With advancements in technology, we now have more efficient means to dispatch local technicians to install services and troubleshoot problems by phone or online at any time of day,” stated a Midcontinent letter to its customers. “These advances have reduced the need for our walk-in location.”
