Menards has purchased the International Mall according to store officials.
Jason Adams, assistant general manager for the local Menards store, said that the store finalized the purchase of the mall Friday.
Adams explained that there are no anticipated immediate change in tenants for the mall location and all current leases are expected to be honored. Business will continue as usual for the shops that lease mall locations, Adams said, except they will contact Menard’s staff for management details.
“Yes, we can confirm that Menards has recently purchased the International Mall which includes all of the store sites within the mall plus additional land around the mall,” said Jeff Abbott, Menards spokesperson.
“Although no decisions have been made at this time, this purchase offers us the option to use some of this land to expand our current Menards store in the future if we choose to. All of the current mall tenants will be maintaining their leases and our goal is to add more tenants in the future.”
Curves of International Falls occupies space in the mall. Curves owner Becky Olson said the new management has been very accommodating to her fitness center’s hours of operation by opening a back door for early-morning clients.
Olson said she sees the change as being positive for current tenants, especially if Menards is able to attract other businesses to locate in the unoccupied mall shops.
Businesses interested in leasing space at International Mall should contact Adam Ray, Menards sales and leasing representative, at 715-876-2309, or go to www.menardsrealestate.com for more information, Abbott said.
