Snap Fitness in International Falls will be conducting a study open to members of the public who currently do not exercise.
The purpose of the 21-day fitness study is to find out what non-exercisers can gain from completing the Snap Fitness 30-minute circuits. Participants will be asked to complete the exercises three times per week for the course of three weeks.
The study is open to men and women, and is expected to begin the week of April 9. The study is not paid; participants must volunteer. Requirements include a $25 refundable deposit returned at the end of the study. Participants will also be expected to complete fitness profiles at the beginning and end of the study.
Fitness profiles will measure heart rate; blood pressure; percentage of body fat; and body mass index. These factors will determine the results of the study.
The nationwide study will also be conducted at other Snap Fitness locations. Statistics will be gathered from hundreds of clubs to determine the results of “moderate exercise” for those who were not exercising before the start of the study.
The local study will be held at Snap Fitness located at 615 Third Ave. For more information on participating in the study, or to sign up, call the local Snap Fitness at 283-0020.
