The Super 8 hotel on Highway 53 is now an Americas Best Value Inn & Suites.

New signs will go up in the next several weeks, said managing partner Chuck Coombs. The new signs will be just one of several renovations and capital improvements on the property this year.

Over the next six to eight months, the hotel will get new beds, carpet, roof, landscaping and a separate breakfast area.

Coombs said that the decision to change the Super 8 to an Americas Best Value Inn & Suites came at a time when the renewal was up on the Super 8 franchise agreement in April.

The hotel ownership and management will remain the same.

There are more than 900 Americas Best Value Inn hotels throughout North America. The company has expanded from just two locations in 10 years and is consistently ranked among the fastest-growing chains in America.

“We think the potential for the future is greater associated with them,” Coombs said of the new parent company.

Each hotel owner becomes a member of the parent company, Vantage, instead of being a franchisee. “We have an actual voice,” Coombs said, noting that the members get a vote on company policy.

Coombs explained that in addition to the positive membership experience, the high quality control standards the properties are held to ensure a good reputation.

The limited-service hotel includes laundry and breakfast. The hotel was built in 1989 and has been a Super 8 since that time. There are 52 rooms, of which 12 are suites with wetbars and 2 have a Jacuzzi tub.
