Wells Fargo Bank Minnesota-International Falls has awarded a $27,500 grant to Good Samaritan Society-International Falls in support of its current “Building a Future Together” capital campaign.
“We’re so pleased to support a project that will touch our local community for decades to come,” said Wells Fargo store manager Kris Lassila.
As a member of the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls capital campaign committee, Lassila said she developed a deep respect for the work being done at the current care center.
“When you take the time to really get to know the mission of Good Samaritan Society and you witness the compassionate and personalized care given by the staff, you find yourself inspired to find a way to support this project,” stated Lassila. “In fact, the Wells Fargo Leadership Fund board was so moved by this project that they actually made the grant for $2,500 more than was requested.”
Anna Mae Sullivan, president of the resident council, accepted the check on behalf of the residents and staff of Good Samaritan Society.
“I’m overwhelmed. God bless you. This is an amazing moment for us all,” she stated. The resident council is a group that meets monthly. Suggestions and ideas from the council have played a major role in the development and design of the new facility, say Good Samaritan Society officials.
“Our guiding principles are what does the resident want, how did they do it at home and how can we do it here,” according to Good Samaritan Society Administrator Adam Coe. “So, of course, the residents are a critical part of the team here and have embraced the opportunity to create their new home.”
Construction of the new campus has begun along Keenan Drive and community members may watch the progress online at www.good-sam.com or visit the Good Samaritan Society International Falls Facebook page.
