Charboneau speaks
Friends Against Abuse hosted an awareness event April 25 featuring Robin Poor Bear Charboneau. Charboneau is featured in a PBS film called, “Kind Hearted Woman,” which documents her life in the aftermath of her abuse as a child. Charboneau spoke about her healing journey which involved sexual and physical abuse that began as a young child. Her daughter Darian and son, Anthony also spoke at the event. The family of presenters offered many different warning signs of child sexual abuse and ways that adults can recognize and react to those signs.Organizers said they were pleased with attendance from many community members as well as out of state residents.
