The Littlefork City Council Thursday heard the city’s 2011 audit report shows positive results.
Don Zierke, Miller McDonald Inc., told the council the city is in “good shape,” reports Sonja Pelland, Littlefork assistant administrator.
The council also heard Thursday from Tom Morris who serves as a representative on the recently reactivated Koochiching County Littlefork/Rat Root River Board and Citizens Advisory Committee. Morris told the council the committee is preparing to do some improvements to a Littlefork River boat access at the Elm Street landing. Pelland reports that it is the committee’s goal for boaters to be able to access the river above the rapids.
Morris also said the committee is looking to include more signs along the river and is considering placing a floating dock at Lofgren Park, according to Pelland.
In other business Thursday, the council heard an update on a property purchase to expand the liquor store. The purchase agreement was finalized between the city and Lucretia Cole, who owned the property adjacent to the liquor store, for the amount of $10,000.
The council agreed to hire Cody Anderson as a summer maintenance worker at $7.25 per hour for 40 hours per week during the summer months.
