Madalynn Saxton, 5, is determined to knock down some pins before she's as frozen as the roughly 10-pound bird she hefted Saturday outside Backus Community Center Saturday and dropped like an anchor on the pins. It was 1 degree at the time, according to the National Weather Service and dipped as low as 13 below zero that night. Organizers said at least two dozen kids and as many adults participated in I. Falls' singular tradition.
