Koochiching County commissioners Tuesday will wear three different hats as they meet as the county board, the Koochiching Development Authority and the Board of Equalization.

An agenda is considered tentative until the government body begins the meeting and makes additions or deletions to the proposed agenda.

Commissioners are scheduled to begin the day at 9 a.m. in committee meeting with department heads in preparation of the 2013 budget and to review a proposed relocation of the Borderland Humane Society holding facility.

At 10 a.m., the KDA Board is scheduled to approve a guaranteeing a $350,000 loan by the county to help construct a second cold box at the area’s cold weather testing facility.

At 10:30 a.m., commissioners are scheduled to meet in regular session where they will consider a number of staffing issues in the Sheriff’s Office, Community Services Department and the Highway Department.

A public comment period, when the public may address the board on any topic, is scheduled to follow the 11:10 a.m. Highway Department portion of the agenda.

At 1:30 p.m., the board is scheduled to open the 2012 county Board of Equalization, which is expected to begin with a report from the assessor.

Appointments with property owners who have concerns and questions about whether valuation and classification of their property was applied correctly, consistently and fairly are scheduled to begin at 1:45 p.m.
