President Rose Morin presided at the final meeting of the season of the Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary May 5 at the hospital.

Hospital liaison Saga Hemstad reported that a new CEO was selected and will begin his duties later this summer. On July 1, the hospital complex will officially be called Rainy Lake Medical Center. Groundbreaking for the new hospital on scheduled for Oct. 1.

Volunteer director Sadie Darvell reported hospital tours had been set up for three preschool classes.

Two scholarships for high school students will be awarded. Members studied the applications that were submitted.

Membership chairperson Edith Hopke reported that auxiliary membership stands at 59 members. Dues are still accepted at the gift shop.

Hopke and Marguerite Davison reported on their attendance at the District B Spring Forum of Health Care Auxiliaries of Minnesota April 18 in Virginia. The theme was HCAM Expression — Right on Track. Items discussed were importance of communication, Legislative Days at the Capitol, ways of attracting young people and men to the auxiliary, innovative fund raisers, and the annual state fall meeting Sept. 16-18 at Alexandria. Following the meeting they toured the Virginia Regional Medical Center Gift Shop and the thrift shop at Cook.

Door prizes were awarded to Hopke, Darvell and Joan Frick.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be Sept. 1 at the hospital. The newly elected officers will be installed at that time.
