President Beverly Beck presided at the Oct. 2 meeting of Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary conducted at the hospital campus. Beck led in the prayer for hospital auxiliaries. Committee reports were given and discussions were held about upcoming events.

The annual bake sale will be conducted Nov. 2 at the hospital. This year donors are requested to put their names on the packages they have donated and state whether ingredients include nuts. This is a new requirement. Carol Lagoo and Sadie Darvell are co-chairpersons for the event.

The colorful queen-sized quilt fashioned by Pam Hanson and donated to the auxiliary is on display in the gift shop where tickets may be purchased. Tickets may also be obtained from auxiliary members. The drawing will be in December.

The fall meeting of District B Hospital Auxiliaries will be Oct. 10 Duluth, hosted by the Benedictine Health Center. Several auxilians indicated they would attend.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program recognition banquet honoring those volunteers who have served 50 hours or more is scheduled for Oct. 10 at Backus Community Center.

The auxiliary nominating committee was named to select and present a slate of officers at the November meeting of the auxiliary. Serving on the committee are Connie Lacher, Sonia Wegge and Jo Johnson. 

Helen Billig, chairperson of the gift shop, gave her report. Popular at the shop are purses, new jewelry, flameless candles and glitter pumpkins.

Thank you letters were read from Rose Morin and Marguerite Davison. 

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the auxiliary will be Nov. 5 at the hospital. (Note change of date).
