New group to support caregivers
All are welcome to the next regular meeting of a new group for “informal” or “family” caregivers. “Caring and Sharing: A Time for Caregivers” offers a listening ear and support to individuals who provide care to a family member or friend, providing an opportunity for family caregivers to take time for themselves, to share experiences, and to receive and give support. The group is facilitated by Caregiver Consultant Leslee Loop, program specialist with Koochiching Aging Options. The group will not focus on a particular illness but rather deal with the range of challenges facing the caregiver. Participants may benefit from presentations and resource sharing. Meetings are conducted the last Thursday of each month. The next gathering is set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fireside Room of Faith United Church. Registration is encouraged. Call Loop at 283-7030 with questions or for more information.
