Documentary movie
Documentary movie discussion is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Backus Auditorium. The public is welcome to watch the movie “Money and Medicine” then stay for refreshments while discussing the movie. This is a timely topic as the clinic and hospital undergo changes.
Scarecrows at the library
The public is welcome to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at International Falls Public Library for a story or two then dive into making a family scarecrow. The library will provide all needed supplies.
Square dancing
The first square dance of the 2012-13 season is set for Nov. 11. Dances run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Littlefork Community Building, 220 Main St. A light potluck lunch will be provided after each dance. Dances throughout the year will normally take place the second and fourth Sundays of each month and will be to recordings, unless otherwise specified. An exception will be the December dance which will be a special Christmas celebration square and round dance party, 1:30 to 4 p.m. Dec. 16. Caller will be Larry Johanson and the round dance cuer will be Donna Stone. The first half-hour will be plus dancing and mainstream from 2 to 4 with round dance cuing between tips. A Christmas-style turkey dinner is being planned to serve following the dance. Turkey will be furnished with other Christmas food items being potluck. Call 283-9533 for more information.
Moose Lodge meal
The Moose Lodge will serve ham and cheese sandwiches and soup at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Soup will also be available for purchase for hunting shack take-outs.
Halloween Party
A Halloween Party is planned for Wednesday at Koochiching County Senior Center, 307 Fourth St. Live music by “Don and Friends” will begin at 10:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. Deadline for reservations is noon Tuesday.
Kids Fall Festival
First Assembly of God welcomes area children to the annual Kids Fall Festival from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, as a Halloween alternative. Food and games will be featured. Parents are also welcome. Every child receives a bag of candy as well as prizes donated by local businesses. For more information, call the church at 283-2131.
Healing service
A Healing Service is planned for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Faith United Church, 1001 Fifth St. Everyone is welcome.
Red Hat Loon-A-Ticks
The Red Hat Loon-A-Ticks will meet for lunch at noon Monday at Lenard’s.
Trail clean-up
Polar Polers Ski Club will meet at 9 a.m Saturday at the Tilson Ski Trail Trailhead for clean-up. Bring equipment and lunch.

Trick-or-Treating
The Girl Scouts will be out Trick-or-Treating on Halloween Wednesday for the Food Shelf.
Juliette Low Party
The Girls Scouts will gather for a Juliette Low Party at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church.
