Great Decisions meets March 12
The Great Decisions community group of citizen education and discussion programs about foreign policy issues will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 12 at International Falls Public Library in the lower level meeting room. A discussion on “Energy Geopolitics” will be facilitated by Darrell Schmidt. High school//college students and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend and actively listen and/or share views. Contact Sue Nordquist, 283-8687, or Diane Adams at the library if a group of students or individuals is planning to attend. Materials will be provided to all guests.
Soup supper
The First Thursday Soup Supper is set for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Backus Community Center. The $6 per person charge includes soup, bread, crackers, dessert and beverage. The public is welcome. Soup is available "to go." Value Pack tickets are on sale at the door. Call Backus at 285-7225 for information.
Library storytime
Storytime at International Falls Public Library set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday will feature stories about counting.
Lenten service
An Ecumenical Lenten soup supper and worship service is planned for today at Faith United Church, 1001 Fifth St. Soup supper is at 6 p.m., with worship at 7.
On-site healthcare assistance
Senior outreach specialist of the Senior LinkAge Line and the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission’s Area Agency on Aging, Karen Tveit, and Leslee Loop, program specialist and caregiver consultant at Koochiching Aging Options, will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Littlefork Medical Center in Littlefork to help with insurance issues, long-term care options, caregiver support and other concerns.
VFW Post, Auxiliary
The regular meeting of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 and Ladies Auxiliary is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Post Home, 1416 Third Ave.-Highway 53. The meeting is open to all members and auxiliary members. A light lunch will follow.
Class of 1965 Girls
Falls High School Class of 1965 Girls will meet for lunch at noon March 13 at Giovanni's.
