Hazardous waste collection

The annual Koochiching County Hazardous Waste Collection is set for noon to 4 p m. June 4 at the Recycling/Transfer Facility. Households will be able to safely dispose of hazardous products at no charge. Examples are: paints, thinners, solvents, flammables, acids, adhesives, fluorescent tubes, button and rechargeable batteries, hobby supplies, automotive products, home and garden pesticides and household cleaners. Hazardous wastes from businesses will not be accepted at this time.

Rummage sale

Woodland Apartments will accept donations for an upcoming rummage sale between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 3, 4 and 5. The rummage sale is planned for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8. No shoes, clothing or furniture will be accepted.

Choir performance

Borderland Home-School Choir will perform at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the Full Gospel Fellowship, 1530 Sixth Ave. W. Everyone is welcome. For information, call 283-2088.

Mission of Mercy

Hundreds of Minnesota dentists will volunteer at the first Mission of Mercy planned in northern Minnesota June 14 and 15. The Sandford Center in Bemidji will be converted into a dental clinic. Care will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 5:30 a.m. both days. The event is co-hosted by the Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation. Summer camps

Salvation Army summer camps are planned in Finlayson. Music camp is for ages 9 to 18 years and teen camp is for those in sixth through 12th grade. Transportation and camps are free. Contact the Salvation Army for registration forms at 283-3394.
