Home loan programs

The Rural Development Office of Bemidji will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the basement conference room of Koochiching County Courthouse. United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, offers home loans to low income households to purchase or build single family dwellings. For those who already own their homes, a home improvement program is available for very low income households at an interest rate of 1 percent. Applicants for loans must meet established income guidelines, have acceptable credit and show repayment ability. Grants to remove health and safety hazards from existing homes may be available to those over 62 years of age who qualify. Highway 11 project

A public information meeting on the Highway 11 project from Indus to Loman is set for 7 p.m. Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church community room in Loman.

 

Exercise classes

Exercise classes begin at Backus Community Center, Room 209, Mondays and Fridays, from 10 to 11 a.m. Cost is $2 per session. Discounted admission cards are available at the Backus office. Call 285-7225 for information.
