Kids and Company is a non-profit group in Fort Frances that brings live performances to local children, according to Nancy Westover of Fort Frances who serves its board.

Similar to the Border Concert Association, the group delivers an annual series of shows. These are especially for children.

Operating on a budget derived from national and provincial funding, a small local board has booked four performances through a Toronto agent. The first show is scheduled for Monday. All of the shows sponsored by Kids and Company are on Mondays, and begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Townsend Theater in Fort Frances. Admittance is by season ticket (passport) or by individual show tickets.

Jennifer Windels of the Falls told The Daily Journal that she and her family are taking advantage of the wholesome fun offered to Borderland children. “... kids don’t get enough of that up here,” Windels said, noting the rural and remote area in which they live.

Windels said that one of the performances delivered last season by Kids and Company was the Jamie Adkin’s INcognitus one-man acrobat show, an act that also appears on BCA’s series at Backus Community Center this year.

“Good show, we’ll see it again this year, too,” she said.

The cost per person for the season (currently the same in both U.S. and Canadian funds) is $30 for one ticket, $60 for two tickets, $80 for three tickets, $100 for four tickets, and each additional ticket thereafter is $15 each.

For those who wish to see a single show, advance tickets are $10, or $12 at the door the evening of the performance.

Tickets are available in International Falls at the Coffee Landing Metro; or by contacting Westover at 807-274-4861 or nwestover@ca.ibm.com; or by contacting Windels at 283-9926.
