Citizens for Backus/AB Report

Ward Merrill, executive director, announces that Citizens for Backus/AB has received a grant of $ 8,000 over two years from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council for the purpose of Administrative Support.

Administrative goals supported by grant funds for 2012-2013 include a reorganization of the Backus/AB Board of Directors  into an “Arts and Programming Committee” and an “Operations Committee,” effective Jan. 1, 2012, and facilitating the development  of a new Backus/AB Strategic Plan which was accomplished in April.

An “Arts Tour” grant will be written and submitted by Merrill to the Minnesota State Arts Board by September of 2012.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
