International Falls Lions Club gathered for a dinner meeting April 2 at the AmericInn.

The club was honored with the attendance of District Governor Peggy Michaels, who reminded us to keep our new and old members inspired in order to continue to be active. Clubs should make sure to acknowledge and show appreciation for members’ accomplishments through praise, awards and other ways to let them know they are appreciated.

Health fair chair, Lion Caryn Noland, is still working on getting sponsors all wrapped up. The health fair is planned for Sept. 27 at the AmericInn. Some health screenings will be done. Several booths displaying health care products and service organizations and other health related information will be featured.

A discussion was had on whether the club would like to have the food booth at City Beach this summer to sell items and raise funds. The club will make that determination next the meeting.

Correspondence was read and discussed.

Nomination for officers held its final reading. Officers will be voted on next the meeting.

Any time is a good time to become a volunteer. Club members look forward to new, interested people joining to help persons of the community.

The next dinner meeting will be at 6 p.m. May 7 at the AmericInn. Anyone wanting more information regarding the club may contact call Lion Dick Briese at 286-5508.
