The International Falls Lions Club met April 5.
Correspondence consisted of an announcement of the Big Falls fireworks fund raiser April 10, Hunger Coalition newsletter, thank you from Salvation Army, a request from the Roche family for the MS Walk, notice of Relay for Life June 12 and Minnesota Lions Eye Bank newsletter.
Angelica Hoopingarner, along with her mother and grandmother, asked for assistance to make their home handicapped accessible. Angelica is 11 years old and suffers from cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus.
Guests and prospective members were Mary Decker and Mike Ward.
Minutes were approved as read. The treasurers report was tabled until the treasurer is in attendance.
Beverly Mayfield and Caryn Noland were installed as members.
Second reading of the 2010-11 slate of officers was held.
Noland gave an update on the health fair which will be Sept. 30. A committee was formed to work out the details.
The club will have an informational table at the Home Show April 16 and 17. County health nurses will assist with a diabetes screening. Stop by and be tested free of charge.
Also, anyone having used eyeglasses or hearing aids taking up space in the drawer, may drop them off at that time. Lions have them refurbished and they are then sent to Third World countries.
The club donated $250 to the MS Walk.
The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. May 3 at the Holiday Inn.
