Community Baby Shower

Rainy Lake Medical Center Foundation will once again partner with Koochiching County Health Department to host its annual Community Baby Shower from 10 a.m. to noon May 14 at the Coffee Landing Cafe.

As many Koochiching County families cannot afford essential baby supplies, this event gives the community an opportunity to donate to area infants and toddlers, according to a news release.

Items that are in need include:

  • New onesies, pajamas, outfits – preemie, newborn and up to 12 months
  • Diapers and diaper wipes – all sizes
  • Quilts and flannel blankets
  • Baby head to toe wash, baby lotion, diaper ointment and thermometers
  • Baby toys and children’s books
  • New or gently used prenatal books

These essential supplies are distributed by Koochiching County Health staff on their visits with newborns and their families throughout the county. Deb Larson, Koochiching County Health nurse, adds, “It is nice to be able to support our families, especially in times of need and as they face challenges in their lives.”

Refreshments will be served.

Those unable to attend but who wish to donate items may do so prior to the event by dropping off at Rainy Lake Medical Center registration.
