The regular meeting of the Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 was called to order at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 by president Linda Chezick with 10 members present. Kathy Randall, Eighth District president, was a guest.
The opening ritual was held. Roll call of officers was conducted with Pat Delapp, pro-tem; Irene Anderson, Chaplain, pro-tem and Beth Johnson, Conductress, pro-tem.
One petition for membership was received — Peter Johnson, whose eligibility is his father, Roy Johnson, who was a member of the Post. A voice vote was taken to accept Peter as a member.
Minutes from the September meeting were read and stand approved as read. The General Orders and Correspondence was read.
Treasurer’s report read by Anderson was filed subject to audit. Audit report for July-September was read by Kathy Sikkila.
Committee Reports were given on Americanism, Youth Activities, Veterans and Family Support and Minnesota Scholarships.
The Auxiliary will participate in programs at local schools Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
The offices of Chaplain and Conductress are open. Interested members should contact Chezick.
A donation was received from Harry Batdorf from the sale of his book.
The Auxiliary made a donation to the Wounded Warrior Christmas Party to be conducted at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.
The charter was draped for departed member, Marcia Bringedahl.
Door prize was won by Lois Adee.
The meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m. with closing ceremonies.
The next meeting is planned for Nov. 10.
