The regular meeting of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 Auxiliary was called to order at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 by senior vice president Kathy Sikkila, with eight members present.
The opening ritual was held, roll call of officers was conducted with Pat Delapp, secretary, pro-tem and Tina Hofius, guard, pro-tem.
There were no completed petitions for membership.
The minutes from the November meeting, the General Orders and correspondence was read. The treasurer’s report was filed, subject to audit.
Reports on Americanism, Veterans and Family Support and Youth Activities were given by Irene Anderson. Delapp reported on membership. Membership dues are due by the end of the year.
Bingo will start at the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls, in January, and is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. Pies will be served at the Good Samaritan Society at 2:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month.
Volunteers were needed for kids’ Christmas shopping planned for Dec. 12 at Kmart and for the VFW Post children’s party Dec. 14.
Donations were made to the Green Shower, Operation Uplink and National Home.
Tacos on Mondays at the Post are suspended until January.
The charter was draped for departed member Dorothy Gilgen, who passed away Nov. 15.
Betty White won the door prize.
The meeting concluded at 8:08 with closing ceremonies.
The next meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Jan. 12 in the Post Home dining room.
