The regular meeting of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary to Post 2948 was called to order at 5 p.m. June 14 by president Pat DeLapp with 13 members present.
The opening ritual was held. Roll call of officers was conducted with Irene Anderson, treasurer, pro-tem.
There were no petitions for membership.
The general orders and correspondence was read. Motions were made to dispense with the reading of the May meeting minutes and treasurers report. The treasurers report was filed subject to audit.
Members are reminded that as of July 1, dues need to be paid for the upcoming year.
The Auxiliary purchased a butterfly from Fairview Hospice in memory of deceased members.
The charter was draped for departed member Virginia Randolph, who passed away May 26.
The Second Wind Harmonic Band from Grand Rapids will perform Aug. 25 at the Post Home for residents of area care centers. Volunteers are needed for the event.
The 8th District meeting will be conducted in August in International Falls.
The door prize was won by Margarete Kostiuk.
The meeting adjourned at 5:35 with closing ceremonies.
Following the meeting, members carpooled to Thunderbird Lodge for dinner.
Kathy Sikkila won the drawing for the life membership.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 12 at the Post Home dining room.
