The Jan. 12 meeting of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary was called to order at 7 p.m. by president Linda Chezick with eight members present.

Six petitions were received for memberships — Carol Jaksa under her father, Tony; Pat Jaksa, under his father, Tony; Michael Holden, under his father, Ivan; John Sirotiak, under his father, George; Jeff Hardwig, under his father, Herbert, as a life member; and Mary Kay Hardwig, under her father, Tony, as a life member.

Five donations were made and new membership pins ordered. Reports were given by Irene Anderson, Chezick and Pat DeLapp. Memberships are still due. Those who have not received 2016 cards are past due. No bills were received.

Tacos will continue to be served as a fundraiser for the VFW Auxiliary from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays. Those who wish to volunteer are asked to contact a member as help is still needed.

Pies were served in Littlefork in January. Bingo will be played at 2:30 p.m. every third Thursday at the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls.

Secretary protem was Diane Kelly; Guard protem, Tina Hofius; and Conductress protem, DeLapp.

The charter was draped for Dorothy Ross and Margaret Magnuson.

The meeting adjourned 8:30.

Irene Anderson won the door prize.
