The regular meeting of the Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 was called to order at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 by president Pat Delapp with 10 members present.
The opening ritual was held, roll call of officers conducted with Linda Chezick, secretary, pro-tem. There were no petitions for membership.
VFW Commander Harley Droba spoke to the Auxiliary and thanked members for assistance with the 8th District meetings.
The General Orders, correspondence and the June meeting minutes were read. The audit and the treasurer’s report were read. The audit was for the months of April through June 2016. The treasurers report was filed, subject to audit.
Over 30 members have paid dues and two members transferred to life memberships.
POW/MIA Day will be Sept. 16. Ideas on a business to donate a flag were discussed and a proclamation will be sent to the city/mayor.
President Delapp thanked all who attended and assisted with the 8th District meeting.
The Second Wind Harmonic Band will perform Aug. 25 at the Post Home for residents of area care centers. Volunteers are always welcome.
Discussion took place about ideas for fundraisers.
The door prize was won by Delapp.
The meeting concluded at 8:10 p.m. with closing ceremonies.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Post Home dining room.
